Signs of Recovery in the Real Estate Market?

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Are we seeing signs of recovery in the real estate market?

Look

The good news is The National Association of Realtors is reporting that existing home sales rose 2.9% in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.03 million units. This is the largest increase of the past year, and in a market where almost everyone expected to see a decline.

The bad news (for some) is that prices are still falling.

What does this mean?

In my opinion, it shows that Sellers are starting to come to terms with the true value of their real estate and smart Buyers are taking advantage of the weak market.

As an investor, I feel that the longer the market is down, the more time we have to position ourselves. If you are one of those that are waiting until the market bottoms, you will more than likely be late and risk missing out on some fantastic opportunity.

I can say with confidence that the real estate market is going to get worse before it gets better. However, if you are an Investment Buyer, this should be music to your ears.

Keep in mind, not too many folks get wealthy by following the herd!
